CA Trip – Grandpa Blackie
Julie North Photography – Update: I know there are a few of you waiting for sneak peeks of your sessions. Be patient – I am building a cool new blog, it is almost done and I can’t wait to share it with you! Until then – enjoy more pics from California.
This is my Grandpa Blackie. He lives outside of Las Vegas and has the best stories. Whenever we would visit with him we did not play crazy eight or go fish. No way, no kids games there. He taught us how to play poker & blackjack. (important life skills in my family). I love the fact that my daughter has been able to spend time with him too. I am very thankful he came to see us when we were out west.

More CA Trip – How did you take that?
Our family loves roller coasters! When Samantha was 5 and we went to six flags she was so devastated that she couldn’t ride the giant drop that the next time we went she chose her “Hello Kitty” flip flops because they made her taller. This were taken on Big Thunder Mountain in Disneyland. There have been many times I have been in awkward postions so I could get just the shot I was going for. For this one, I sat wedged into the car in front of Bob & Sam then turned around backwards while holding on to my big camera. Crazy? Yes, Was I gripping the camera strap tightly? Yes! Was I dizzy & nauseous after? Yes! It didn’t matter. I wanted the shot. I love capturing those moments. When she is grown and out of the house – these vacations will be remembered fondly.

California Trip
Another vacation pic! this is my Grandma holding my brothers son Thomas. I had the cool grandma growing up, she lives in Missouri. She taught me to make homemade yeast rolls, fried chicken and to crochet. She is also one who in her 70’s was still showing her kids, grand kids and great grandkids how to do back dives off the dock! I hope as I age I have her kind of energy for life.

1 Year Blog-iversary
It’s official, I have been a blogger and an official business for 1 year today. I am so grateful for the support of my friends and family. I can’t even begin to express how much you all mean to me. When I lauched this blog one year ago today – I reconnected with so many people and that alone has made this process wonderful!
This past summer the North Family had a great vacation in California. I love going to Ca and more importantly – I love getting to spend time with our family who lives there. Today is the kick off to a special series of our summer 08 vacation pics. I hope you enjoy! If you are reading this – thank you for being an important part of Julie North Photography. The future holds much.
To kick off the vacation pics- here is Samantha and my nephew Thomas with Winnie the Pooh. The only problem I see here is that Thomas is wearing an Elmo shirt at Disneyland. Hmmmmmm …..is that acceptable?

They Miss Their Dad
Their Dad is out of town on a job and Sydney & Nolan decided to dress up in his clothes to show him how much they miss him. They are being awesome little troopers. I am so proud of how the family is supporting each other. It’s not easy being apart.

Blake
Lately I have been going back through some older sessions and have really been enjoying what I have found. It has been at least a year since I even opened this file. Here is Blake – In this picture he was preparing to start kindergarten. Now, he is the most mature first grader :)
